What to Expect

The Bridge Walk

You'll walk across the transparent glass floor looking 300 meters straight down. The glass is extremely strong — demonstrations have shown it can withstand the weight of a small truck. However, the psychological effect is intense. Many visitors find themselves crouching or crawling across!

Shoe Covers

At the entrance, you'll be given special shoe covers to protect the glass. These are mandatory and included in your ticket price.

Activities on the Bridge

💡 Tip: If you're afraid of heights, go with a friend and take it slow. Looking at the horizon instead of straight down helps. There are handrails on both sides.

How to Get There

The Glass Bridge is in the Grand Canyon scenic area, about 30 km from Zhangjiajie city center and 20 km from the National Forest Park (Wulingyuan).

Practical Tips for Foreigners

Is It Safe?

Yes. The bridge underwent extensive safety testing before opening. Each glass panel consists of three layers of tempered glass, and the entire structure is designed to withstand earthquakes and typhoon-force winds. Safety nets are installed beneath the bridge. No accidents have been reported since opening.
