Mutianyu is the most beautifully restored section of the Great Wall around Beijing, surrounded by forested mountains and watchtowers. Compared with Badaling, it has far fewer crowds, cleaner air, and a cable car that lets you skip the steep climb — so you can spend your energy walking the wall itself instead of scrambling up to it.
Most visitors spend 2.5–4 hours on the wall. The cable car takes you up to Tower 14; from there you can hike left toward the quieter towers or right toward the famous steep staircases. Our combo includes the round-trip cable car, so you never have to worry about the way down.
