- The city is VERY hilly. Be prepared for lots of stairs and steep walks. GPS navigation sometimes can't distinguish between different elevation levels.
- Taxis and Didi are cheap but traffic is heavy. Short distances sometimes take longer than expected due to the terrain.
- The Yangtze River Cable Car is both transport and attraction — a unique way to cross the river.
- Chongqing North and West railway stations connect to high-speed trains. The airport is accessible by metro Line 10.
3–5 days is ideal. 3 days covers the city highlights (Hongya Cave, Ciqikou, Jiefangbei) plus a Wulong day trip. Add a 4th day for Dazu Rock Carvings or a Yangtze cable car + Eling Park deep dive.
