Zhujiajiao Water Town (朱家角)

Suzhou苏州

- Didi is essential — often faster than the metro for cross-city trips. Available through WeChat or Alipay mini-programs.
- Taxis are metered (starting at ¥14). Show drivers your destination in Chinese. Avoid taxis at airports — they may refuse to use the meter.
- The Maglev train from Pudong Airport reaches 431 km/h and gets you to Longyang Road station in 8 minutes (¥50, or ¥40 with a flight ticket).
- Ferries cross the Huangpu River for just ¥2 — a cheap and scenic way to get between the Bund and Pudong.
2–4 days is ideal. 2 days covers the essential highlights (Bund, Pudong, Yu Garden). Add a 3rd day for the French Concession and Tianzifang. Day 4 for Shanghai Disneyland or a water town day trip to Zhujiajiao.
